Yeah, he is a working man alright! Done some crazy things 😊❤
Funny thing about those leg kicks hurting him that bad is those kicks were actually terrible. Like fundamentally ass terrible.
"Sheesh! Let's go, champ!"
When kickboxing a boxer, go for the legs.

Gotta love his no ego attitude here
Kickboxing are no Joke and Alex Poatan in UFC are showing that for the world.
100% gay to get in a sex position For fun…. Sounds gay how bout box mma … nobody likes the gay bjj stuff.
Yeah ill just charge him instead if just kicking his legs... kickboxers are super dumb, if you ever met one you know what im talking about
What you think of Alex Poatan ?

Boxing 🥊 is the number 1 combat sport in the world. MMA is just a bunch of backyard drunk uncle c level martial arts martial art wannabes that lose to boxers anytime they try it
Shannon was average at best in his prime. Looked the part but the head was not there. Still isnt.
Somebody needs to teach you the concept of „average“
He’d beat you with one hand tied behind his back till this day
I thought it's common wisdom already to call them "survivors" instead of "victims". Just like in German the term "Kinderschänder" (one who "brings shame or disgrace to a kid) s shunned nowadays, because it implies the kid is now soiled ("in Schande"). It's not. The kid is pristine and great. The attacker is the one whose character is soiled, who must live in shame.
Intelligence is the rate at which you learn and recognize patterns. So basically if you have an old person with a lot of knowledge and a teen with a lot of knowledge, the teen is way more intelligent.
100% correct
Great video coach!
Shannon Briggs is a great boxer, but Aerts, Ignashov or Hoost would have made him fall with 2-3 leg kicks. On the other hand, he might have won against dudes who used their hands more: LeBonner, Hunt, Sefo. I wonder what would've happened if he fought Schilt.
Shit all of those guys you listed could throw proper kicks so I’m sure it would’ve been an even worse result if Briggs had to fight any of them.
🤣🤣🤣😂🤣
what throws did you use from a standing position?
I will make a video on this soon
How to get cauliflower ear whiteout training?
With six to eight months of training any men can beat professional women.
Where is BJJ now if it's so great? The reason Eye Poke, Biting, and Groin Strikes are banned is because if allowed BJJ would become ineffective! Period.
True……
You either love the Champ or you don’t!
Another sport developed by 3rd world people to cripple people for no reason in "training." It was banned because in Japan rival schools would send older bigger boys to cripple children who might beat their athletes in competition...

Boxing is the most superior punching method that ever existed, period..
For purely Punching, maybe yes. But it still has many downsides - even when purely talking about Punching.
For sure boxers have the best hands but it's the only thing they do
@@PeterMettlerMartialArtsall of those downsides are fixed when you differentiate MMA Boxing from professional boxing, MMA boxers could school professional boxers in the octagon
No.
And Wrestling are the best for Takedowns it's Obviously that when you train only one thing you will became a Specialist.
Imagine if he got kicked by a real kickboxer! Erikson was a wrestler with bad stand up.
Hokurrmm!
Bro took that jab to the stomach and thought it was sweet 😂😂😂 should’ve kept kicking 🦵 obviously
Thank you Mr. Briggs for putting Tom Erickson on the canvas. My wife was his assistant coach and he was a prideful, egotistical, a$$hat who couldn't get over playing second fiddle in his career. Your left right is greatly appreciated.
Second fiddle to who?
Why would he have a woman as a coach, especially one who hated him?
@@ScorpionSuerte he never beat Bruce Baumgartner and was his Olympic alternate in '88, '92, and, 96. That doesn't mean he isn't talented. He has a vast knowledge of wrestling technique and skill but in my numerous interactions with him, he definitely has never let that go. If that's not it, then I don't know where the giant chip on his shoulder comes from. It would be much more fair to separate his professional and personal character. Personally, he is a nice guy, willing to give a hand at the drop of a hat and don't get him started on the Fantastic 4. His professional character is quite different. Some days he'd be great to work with and the next it was like someone new was there who couldn't handle any type of criticism and passed the buck on anything that may have gone wrong whether that be logistically or on the team. To your other comment, I never said my wife hated him. I just listed his character flaws and how I felt about him. Why not have a woman as an assistant coach? My wife wiped the mat with all the male and female wrestlers they coached. Also, is that you Tom?
@@XSR_RUGGERwhen you say things like your wife wiped the floor with all the male wrestlers too your story becomes a load of bs.
@@ngkngk875 sure bud 😂. My wife was the number 1 nationally ranked freestyle wrestler at 58 kilos and number 3 at 55 kilos. I know the world zeitgeist is insane right now with people making ludicrous claims like men can get pregnant, but she wrestled before the United States went crazy. She was part of the pioneering group of women who established women's wrestling in colleges and universities. She grew up wrestling boys / men because there were no other girls to wrestle. I didn't say she walked in to Penn State's or Iowa's wrestling room and put them to shame but the schools she worked at as an assistant coach and later head coach, she absolutely did. You don't have to believe it, that's not going to keep me up at night.
Amazing Video
This is what kickboxers don't get. Boxing is the most effective at ending fights quickly, legs kicks will fuck a boxer up. But you still need to respect those handssss
The guy Shannon was fighting was a wrestler, so his legs weren't conditioned enough. There are some fighters like Ernesto Hoost, Samkor, Veeraphol who have broken legs or arms with their kicks. Veeraphol actually went to boxing at age of 26 and became a WBA champ within 9 months and later became WBC champion with 14 defenses. There are many other muay thai fighters who became world champions in boxing within 2 years of starting boxing after the age of 21, so there are some really good boxers in muay thai and kickboxing. Of course not everyone will be the best at boxing because they might specialise on kicks instead, but even kicking specialists will have good defense against punches.
@@Korn-fu6lf never said leg kicks aren't effective. Just that I often see and hear Mauy Thai/kickboxers talk shit about boxing as if leg kicks will save them when they're locked in a small environment with a boxer
Yeah but this bro was basically a wrestler that have like minimum kick boxing experience. It’s really a stretch to call him a kick-boxer since kick-boxers are suppose to have good punches as well.
@@Skook427 These fighters took <4 years to become boxing champion: Veeraphol Sahaprom, Saensak Muangsurin, Muangchai Kittikasem, Sot Chitalada, Yokthai Sithoar, Samson Isaan, Khaokor Galaxy, Samart Payakaroon, Khaosai Galaxy, Knockout CP Freshmart From the above list, the first three guys became boxing champs in less than 1 year from the start of their boxing career. Sot Chitalada took 1 year to become champ. These fighters took >4 years to become boxing champions: Chatchai Sasakul, Wanheng Menayothin, Panya Padabsri, Amnat Ruenroeng
@@Skook427 PS: All I am trying to prove here is that there are great boxers in kickboxing too
Probably the best sparring advice I've heard so far. Thank you.
He fought a wrestler who wasn’t even throwing proper kicks. Not even turning his hip over.
You talking about a 52 year old with no kickboxing training and that has been out of boxing for like 20 years? I’d say he did pretty effing good against a seasoned kickboxer.
The fight was like 20+ years ago
Don’t disrespect the champ
As a matter of fact.....yeah okay, "Oscar". Stop ruining story time.
@@anthonyurgitano2114 That wasnt a seasoned kickboxer, it was a wrestler. But he did do good
he was kickboxing a wrestler
did the wrestler have at least some knowledge of kickboxing and by the way sorry for asking a question like that I really can't tell if what I'm watching is good but now that I'm thinking about it probably isnt

Oblique kick or chassé frontal bas from Savate
Wow amazing throw for self defense, mainly the "annoying family member" cases, Its similiar to a ko soto gari with a body lock grip and okuri ashi footwork. Have you tried moving circular to the back and doing a short range "sasae/harai tsurikomi ashi"-like foot sweep instead of moving forward with the "ko soto gari"-like foot sweep? ps: Sorry if I've mistaken names, I'm a bjj blue belt

Thank you Coach very much! I tried this move last week and it worked really well! Your dojo is nice and neat! Thank you very much again! ^^

Greatly good video
chimps are no joke. you think of the chimp and you think “haha chimp is joke” but no my friend, that is precisely where you would be wrong because the truth of the matter is that the chimp is indeed a complete absence of what one might call a joke. in other words, the chimpanzee is arguably a relatively humorless animal in the sense that it is a serious threat or danger especially if the chimp is trained in martial arts as well, which is quite possible given the advent of modern martial arts techniques aimed at the professional fighting chimpanzee. Also, chimps are several times stronger than man because they are not the same as humans. In other words they are different. Aside from that, great video highly informative and many thanks for your dedication to education, truth, honesty, chimpanzee, and informing knowledge on us.🍌
Shannon Briggs in his prime had very Awesome Textbook Boxing hand speed and Punch Power when he keeps his hands up and used Textbook Guard Shannon Briggs beat some Fellas up pretty good, He almost Knocked Lennox Lewis out of the ring if the ropes were not there Lennox Lewis would of went Flying
